For many Financial Advisers, October to December often feels like the time to push harder than ever—because you have to, you must, you NEED TO. It’s crunch time. We tend to work our best when deadlines loom and the finish line is in sight.

As humans, we value short-term rewards much more than long-term benefits, even when the long-term gains could be far more significant. Consider your client’s tendency—they often choose to put extra cash-flow toward paying down their mortgage instead of making additional Super contributions. Why? Because the immediate relief of reducing debt feels more tangible and instant than the distant promise of compounded interest over 30 years. This is the kind of trade-off discussion that only the best Advisers tackle head-on.
